Classes We Offer

Outside of our Sunday Bible Classes, the leadership at Hope offers a variety of classes for the edification of the body. All classes are open to non-members, unless otherwise noted.

Baptism Class

Our baptism class, where the scriptural meaning of baptism is investigated and taught, is offered on two Wednesday evenings.  As a resource, students refer to the book Baptism: The Believer’s First Obedience by Larry E. Dyer, which is provided free of charge. Upon completion of the course, baptism candidates are coached in how to prepare a brief testimony, which they are then invited to share during a Sunday morning baptism service.

Who should take this class?
Any believer in Jesus Christ who has not been baptized by immersion since becoming a believer, including those who have been baptized as an infant. It is a joy and a privilege to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ! This is a very helpful and encouraging class that helps each person evaluate their relationship with Jesus Christ and their understanding of the Gospel.
*Note: Children under age 12 will require special permission to take the class.

How can I participate in this class?
Baptism classes are usually held in two sessions on Wednesday evenings. You must attend both sessions. Contact Sean Mornan for more information or to find out when the next class will be held.

Membership Class

The early church was excited to meet together regularly and encourage each other in the Christian faith. The New Testament lets us know that the leaders of the church, called shepherds and pastors, willingly and actively watched over their flocks. Because of this, we encourage every professing Christian to join a local church where they can be cared for and also minister to others. With this in mind, we offer a membership class to orient visitors and frequent guests about how to be a joyful and productive member of a local church to the glory of God. The eight classes will acquaint you with the biblical basis for church membership, with the doctrines and ministry philosophy of Hope Bible Church, with the pastors and other leaders of the church, and with other people considering membership.

Who should take this class?
If you have been our guest for more than a few weeks, we strongly encourage you to take this class so that you can discern whether this is the church that God would have you to join.

How can I participate in this class?
Please contact Pastor Plumley for more information or to find out when the next class will be held.
